Freedom

Freedom

Maybe the time has come for a “human” value system to be promologated.

We have permitted “religion” to define our values since the beginnings of consciousness. The results for humanity generally have been abysmal. Dissent, freedom of thought or consideration never has been tolerated. The penalties are severe. They have gone from torture & death during the Inquisition to burning at the stake in Salem, Massachusetts to imprisonment, stoning and beheading in the Middle East. There is zero tolerance!

In addition to the intoerance, religious values and resultant commandments are totally inconsistent from one region to another. Ironically, perhaps the only commonality is the subjugation and oppression of women. That seems to be consistently prevelant through all time and in all regions.

Though an easy target, the culprit is not just religion. Religion does work along with with the power elite. The ruling class, be they be politicions, dictators or corporate CEOs, is vested in maintaining their privileges which they coincidentially define as the status quo.

How have they maintained this over the millina? Simply, there is no tolerance for dissent. Those in power, control the military & the police. They grant immunity & privilege to religious institutions in exchange for their complicity in inculcating the masses in the particular brand of subservience they demand.

Multinational corporations have evolved to become members of this elite. The commonality is that all work together to maintain their individual position, power and assets. That latter term is a key consideration. “Money is power.” Money permits freedom from want or need. Freedom of choice. Freedom of movement and choice of residence(s). These freedoms are guaranteed and maintained through asset maintenance. That is a/the reason there is such concern about “default” of government bonds from the European community including Greece, Spain, Ireland and the other participants, default on the United States debt and bonds and even private stocks and bonds such a General Motors and Chrysler. The fear is less that the loss of money would be stabalizing. It may or may not. What it would do is constitute an earthquake to the elite whose wealth is stored in these devices that they regard as sacred.
